Anil Kapoor bagged the Best Supporting Actor, Web Original Film (Male) Award for Thar and was vocal in his speech about how honoured he felt about receiving this particular trophy. He dedicated the award to his son, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, saying that Thar was his baby. He revealed that he had told his son he could ask Sanjay Dutt to play his role in the film, or ask Nawazuddin Siddiqui and even Amitabh Bachchan but Harsh insisted that his father only do the role as he wanted a “working class actor’’. He also praised the present audience, stating that it’s full of performers and not just stars, who have managed to vow the audience through sheer dint of hard work. He said he always aspired to be a performer, even in the most commercial of projects and that’s what motivates him even today. He sought out Mita Vashist, who’d won the Best Supporting Actor, Web Original Film (Female) for Chhorii, saying that she had been his colleague for the last 30 years and it was heartening for him to be on the same podium together after so many years and winning in the same category.

Kiran Rao, Payal Kapadia and Shuchi Talati are redefining contemporary Indian cinema by placing women at the centre of their narratives, offering a refreshing perspective through the female gaze. Their films, Laapataa Ladies, All We Imagine As Light, and Girls Will Be Girls, not only explore women-oriented stories but also challenge the traditional male-dominated lens of storytelling, creating nuanced portrayals of women's experiences, aspirations and struggles.
