A long weekend of unique and touching events was put together in June 2022 to pay a fitting tribute to Her Majesty who, despite her frail health at the age of 96, managed to make three memorable appearances.
Thousands gathered in London to witness the occasion, which included Trooping the Colour, a service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral, a concert at Buckingham Palace with acts including Diana Ross, Duran Duran and Sir Rod Stewart, and a star studded pageant along The Mall.
Few imagined this would be the last time we would see the Queen waving to her subjects.
HAPPY DAYS
Although her health was faltering, Her Majesty appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony twice: first after Trooping the Colour when her young grandson Prince Louis so memorably demonstrated his feelings about the noise - and again at the end of the pageant.
