But as the sartorial extravaganza drew to a close last week, it was the stylish young royals and society darlings whose effortless style rivalled the runway's stunning couture creations.

Bringing a sprinkling of regal glamour to the spring/summer showcase were Italian Princesses Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies members of the Spanish House of Bourbon, which ruled southern Italy and Sicily for over a century graced Elie Saab's presentation in showstopping ensembles of their own.

A STELLAR CROWD

Dazzling in sequins, 19-year-old Maria Chiara paired her glittering gown with a floaty olive-green overlay, while her older sister, Maria Carolina, 20, was equally beautiful in a turquoise halterneck dress, as she described the Lebanese designer's creations as "dreamy".
