MAKING HIS BREAKTHROUGH IN 'THE GENTLEMEN' DANIEL INGS REVEALS WHY WORKING WITH GUY RITCHIE WAS NERVE-RACKING BUT CLUCKING GOOD FUN

As one of the breakout stars of The Gentlemen, the crime drama that is Netflix's most-watched show and already hotly tipped for a second series, Daniel Ings has made quite an impression on TV audiences around the world.

So it's fitting that the English actor, who plays the elder brother of Theo James's estate heir Eddie Horniman, made a similarly memorable impact on the show's creator, Guy Ritchie.

"On my first day on set, our costume designer put me in a chicken suit and brought me to Guy in his trailer," says Daniel as HELLO! joins the actor and his castmate Michael Vu - referring to the elaborate costume he wore to film a surreal scene in which his character Freddy goes through a humiliating routine to appease some gangsters.

"Guy's trailer door opens and I get this waft of incense. Smoke's coming out and he's in there playing a steel guitar... He went: Ah, you're in great shape."

Daniel stars as erratic, drugaddicted black sheep Freddy in the eight-part series, which follows the chaos that ensues when Eddie inherits his aristocratic family's 500-year-old estate, only to learn that it's part of a cannabis empire. It was "a rollercoaster", says the actor.
