When asked whom she would most like to create clothes for, Millie, 33, doesn’t hesitate for a moment: the Princess of Wales.
“I admire her feminine but strong style,” she says. “Kate puts together an outfit so well. I particularly love her tonal dressing – it’s the little details, like matching her shoes to the exact colour of the dress.”
Millie, who describes her own style as “feminine and bohemian-y”, has changed things since becoming a mother to Sienna, who turned three this month, and Aurelia, 18 months, with husband Hugo Taylor, whom she married on a Sussex country estate in June 2018, in a ceremony exclusively covered by HELLO!.
“I’ve always loved influences from the Sixties and Seventies, which don’t seem to ever go out of fashion,” she says. “But since having children, my skirts aren’t as short.
“If you’re bending down to pick up a wriggling toddler, it’s not always ideal if you’ve got your bottom poking out for everyone to see!”
STYLE SISTERS
Sienna and Aurelia are already trying to express their own style – something that can sometimes result in a bit of a battle.
“I’m often having to negotiate with my three-year-old. She just wants to wear a princess dress everywhere and will often put one on straight after breakfast.
“She is quite strong-willed, so when she needs to leave for nursery and won’t change into anything else, it can be a bit of a tussle. Of course, I want to nurture her choices and give her a bit of freedom, but sometimes it’s really not practical.
