Few would deny that an epic coast-to-coast journey across America is the trip of a lifetime.  But for trailblazing TV presenter and disability activist Sophie Morgan, it is not just a fun holiday.

She decided to travel thousands of miles from Washington DC to Los Angeles to mark 20 years since a car crash that paralysed her from the chest down - an anniversary she calls her "life-day".

"I always have a party on my life-day anniversary, but this year I wanted to do something that would have been absolutely unfathomable to me when I was first injured," she tells HELLO!, sharing these photos as she continues her Stateside adventure.

"I want to take some time to celebrate and reflect on how far I've come." Sophie's life changed forever on 18 August 2003, when, aged 18, she was in a car crash that left her with a spinal cord injury.

"This trip is not about endurance and suffering - I've been through enough of that - it's about enjoyment and living life," says the star, now 38, who has brought her best friend, Alick "Bowl" Robertson, along for the ride.
