JUST months after defecting from Scientology, a top church official is ripping the lid off the religion’s darkest secrets, charging power-mad leader David Miscavige rules with an iron fist and manipulates the sect’s most prized celebrity member, Tom Cruise!

In a blockbuster exclusive interview, former Senior Director Mitch Brisker, 74, reveals the twisted behavior of Miscavige, who he says routinely uses the church’s $1.75 billion holdings as a personal piggy bank to finance his over-the-top lifestyle of luxury homes, fast motorcycles and exotic cars, including a Ferrari, all on the backs of church minions who work for $30 a week!

Brisker, who spent more than 30 years as a privileged power broker for the secretive organization, says he was Miscavige’s go-to guy for creating promotional propaganda.

He abandoned the church after personal clashes with Miscavige, who he brands “an absolute control freak!”

The former PR maven says superstar Cruise’s money and influence — and Tinseltown glitter offered by other celebs — provide the juice that powers the Scientology machine.

“Tom’s career went in that direction of doing huge, big blockbuster action films because so much of that money’s being funneled into Scientology,” explains Brisker. “I think if Tom wanted to do another small film like Magnolia, David would just say, ‘No, you might get an Oscar but we’re not gonna make any money.’ ”

Brisker brands tyrannical Miscavige as an endless opportunist who “sees Tom as somebody to be exploited” and goes to great lengths to coddle the man who drives his gravy train.
