Eviction 'may fuel coronation snub'

Harry and Meghan could use Frogmore Cottage as an excuse to miss the King's ceremony in May, a royal expert tells new

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s shock eviction from Frogmore Cottage makes it more unlikely than ever that they will attend the coronation of King Charles III, a royal expert tells new.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond claims Prince Harry, 38, and wife Meghan, 41, will use being told to leave the five-bed property in Home Park, Windsor, as “another excuse” not to attend his father’s ceremony at Westminster Abbey on 6 May as relations between them will be ”fraught with tension and awkwardness”.

Jennie said, “After the news about Frogmore, I suspect Harry and Meghan will find a way of not coming to the coronation.

“They may use that as another excuse, since they’ve already got son Archie’s 4th birthday celebrations as a ‘get-out’.

“It’s incredibly awkward – the choreography, where they sit, what role they have, watching Camilla’s family and her grandchildren taking part in the coronation.

“And he – the King’s son – will not have a formal role. The whole thing is fraught with tension and awkwardness, and Harry might just feel he doesn’t want to be there. But I’m still hopeful, for Charles’ sake, that he will go.”
