It’s hard to imagine there’s anything left unticked on Sam Thompson’s bucket list. Star on a popular reality series? Check! Host his own radio show? Check! Bag his dream woman (in the form of Love Island ’s Zara McDermott)? Check! And now Sam, 30, is taking on his most exciting venture yet – he’s landed a job as the Facebook Live host for this year’s Pride of Britain Awards.
“It’s a humbling thing to be a part of,” Sam says. “These people don’t even realise how incredible their achievements are.”
As well as his red carpet role at the ceremony on Monday, we chat to Sam about settling down with 25-year-old Zara…
Hi Sam! How does it feel to be part of this year’s Pride of Britain Awards?
Incredible! What strikes me every year is that the recipients of these awards often appear confused as they’re receiving them, as if they don’t believe that they are worthy, which completely blows my mind. The winners and nominees don’t even realise how incredible their achievements are, so I’m so excited that I can be there to celebrate them. It’s a humbling thing to be a part of.
