Earlier this year, Amy Hart and her boyfriend Sam Rason exclusively welcomed new into their home and told us about wanting to have at least two children.
So we couldn’t have been more thrilled for the Love Island star last week when she revealed she’s expecting her first child during an appearance on Loose Women.
“I’ve always wanted to be a mum and now it’s happening it’s so exciting but it’s weird,” says Amy, 30. “I’m not in denial but part of me is naive, I don’t think the life change has sunk in yet!”
It hasn’t all been plain sailing for Amy. Her pregnancy comes after she opened up about her fertility issues and spending £12,000 on freezing her eggs in an effort to increase her chances of becoming a mum one day.
“Everything happens for a reason,” she tells us of conceiving naturally. “If I don’t use the eggs in the future, I will donate them.”
On top of this, just weeks before she found out she was expecting, doctors had told Amy not to get pregnant because she has the STI human papillomavirus (HPV) and they wanted to remove abnormal cells from her cervix.
Here, Amy – who is due between 28 February and 9 March and planning a home water birth – tells new about what her HPV diagnosis means for her pregnancy, choosing names and the anxieties she’s faced…
Congrats, Amy! Did you have an inkling you were pregnant?
