There might have been some ups and downs for Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack in the Love Island villa, but there’s no denying they returned home with a genuine connection.
Finishing third place in the grand final, “Damiyah” couldn’t hide their feelings for each other, as the Irish microbiologist told host Laura Whitmore he had an instant attraction to his now girlfriend.
“I just looked at Indiyah and I just had to see how to get there, because I was getting there, definitely,” the 26-year-old said during the live final.
There were tests along the way, though, particularly after Casa Amor when Dami recoupled with Summer Botwe, while 23-year-old Indiyah returned to the main villa with Deji Adeniyi. But the couple found their way back to each other.
“When you have a connection, nothing can stop it,” Indiyah added. “It doesn’t matter who walks in, whoever tries to speak to you, when you have feelings for someone and they’re there, it’s just unbreakable.”
Here, Dami and Indiyah, who won parents of the year in the baby challenge, lift the lid on their journey and next steps as a couple…
Hi, both! How would you sum up your Love Island experience?
Indiyah: An unexpected journey! Even though we had bumps, it was never a struggle. Even when we had blips, it never felt like a chore. It felt easy and whenever we had differences or disagreements, it was very easy to sort them out.
