And while she has received some backlash for not being able to make up her mind, Ekin-Su’s best friend Arabella Ovenden, 22 – who lives on Greek island Mykonos – says the other Islanders should take a leaf out of her book.

“Everyone in there should be doing the same thing,” she tells us. “Nobody should stay coupled up with one person, because it might be the wrong person.”

Hi Arabella. How have you found watching your friend on Love Island?

She’s so funny. I know she was really nervous to show people this side of her, she didn’t want to be judged. But I think she’s come out of her shell. I was worried at the start because the girls didn’t take to her.

Is the Ekin-Su we’re seeing on TV the Ekin-Su you know and love?

Yes, that is her. She’s been exactly how she is with her friends back in London. Because she’s an actress, we were wondering if she might put on a persona. But no, that’s the Ekin-Su we know.

Were you shocked when she said she was heading into the Love Island villa?

No, I think it really suits her. She’s very forward and confident about herself, so it didn’t surprise me at all. I think she’s well suited to it.
