She has captivated us all with her portrayal of straight-talking Siobhan ‘Shiv’ Roy, the power-hungry media heiress in smash-hit TV drama Succession. Now, Australian actress Sarah Snook is enjoying her moment in the sun as she’s being tipped for superstardom – but first, she has a very personal project of her own to work on.
Appearing at the launch of Succession’s fourth season last month, Sarah, 35, was showing off a surprisingly well-developed baby bump. Looking positively radiant in a black strappy jumpsuit and shimmering silver robe, she surprised the press contingent with the happy news, revealing series producers had managed to hide her pregnancy as she hadn’t “popped” until near the end of filming.
“I feel great,” said a beaming Sarah, later revealing that she and her Peter Rabbit actor husband Dave Lawson, 44, have decided not to find out the gender of their baby before its expected arrival in mid-May.
Talking about finding love with the man who was, for years, a platonic friend, Sarah described the unexpected way she grew close to Dave during the pandemic.
“I was stuck in Australia with nowhere to live,” she explained, adding that staying at his house turned out to be “really special”.
“It was one of those things where you realise you’re having a lot of fun – like, maybe too much fun,” she remembers. “The Premier was like, ‘You’re going to have to stay inside for another six weeks of lockdown,’ and we were like, ‘Yes! This is going to be great!’”
On Halloween 2020, Sarah popped the question, and they married in the backyard of her Brooklyn home just three months later. The couple, who had been friends since 2014, now eagerly await the arrival of their firstborn.
