Filming Wes Anderson's latest F movie Asteroid City in Spain, actress Maya Hawke says she was enjoying herself so much that she was "devastated" when her role wrapped. Enter Anderson: "He said, 'Well, what do you have to do tomorrow?' And I said, 'Nothing'. He said, 'OK, give me a minute.' And then he walked back from his balcony and went into his room, and he wrote me into another scene, just as an extra, but about a week later," she tells WHO. "I think I wrapped the film two times because I kept just asking if I could stay and be an extra in more scenes."

As the daughter of Hollywood superstars Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, the 25-year-old star wants to stick around in the industry as long as she can, realising it was more than luck that led to her big break.

“Getting that door open is hugely important and really difficult to do, and especially difficult to do on your own, which I did not have to do,” she admits.
