RYAN REYNOLDS &HUGH JACKMAN Their BROMANCE Fine

Superhero movies have lost a bit of their buzz in recent years, but if there's one film that might change that it's Deadpool & Wolverine. The third flick to star Ryan Reynolds as wisecracking antihero Deadpool, it sees him joined by X-Men mainstay Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, and on a mission to save the world. Both are reluctantly dragged out of their post-superhero lives and back into action.

That said, if previous films in the Deadpool franchise, in which the titular character routinely breaks the fourth wall to speak directly to the audience, are anything to go by, plot considerations are secondary to gags and meta references. And because Reynolds, 47, and Jackman, 55, are firm friends in real life - albeit ones who routinely poke fun at each other - audiences can expect plenty of that mateship to spill over onto the screen.

After meeting on the set of 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the actors have spent the years since engaged in a playful feud that has spawned a string of hilarious social media stoushes and interview sound bites about each other. Here, Reynolds and Jackman discuss that friendship, working on this unique project together and the expectations that exist for Deadpool & Wolverine.

Hugh, congratulations on the return of Wolverine. What does that mean to you?

Jackman: It's wonderful to be back playing this character, which I've been playing for 25 years. But somehow, this movie, doing it with Ryan [Reynolds] and [director] Shawn [Levy], who happen to be two of my best friends in the world, this is a dream project.
