On Her Successful Career: I NEVER DREAMED THIS BIG!

The View co-host's many accomplishments have exceeded her expectations

Sunny Hostin is having a pinch-me moment. Currently in her sixth year cohosting The View, the TV journalist just released her second novel, Summer on Sag Harbor, on May 2. (Her first novel, Summer on the Bluffs, is being made into a TV series.) “I’m so flabbergasted,” the NYC native, 54, says of her soaring career. “I didn’t dream that big! I didn’t see myself working with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar every day and writing bestselling books. That’s why when I give talks now, I tell people, ‘You’re only as limited as your dreams.’ ” Here, the mom to Gabriel, 19, and Paloma, 16 (their dad is Sunny’s orthopedic surgeon husband of 25 years, Emmanuel), talks to In Touch’s Katie Bruno about sacrifice, her favorite View guests, and the secret to a great beach read.
