SINGER ELLE KING: I Have Everything I've Ever Wanted

THE 'EX'S & OH'S' SINGER REVEALS HOW SHE GOT THROUGH DARK TIMES, FELL IN LOVE & BECAME A MOM

Elle King and her 16-month-old son Lucky are sitting at the table of her tour bus strumming guitars—an acoustic one in her hands, a tot-size toy in his—as the singer serenades her mini-me, trying to get him to smile for the camera at their People photo shoot. Just minutes later, though, a fussy Lucky throws his guitar to the ground. “Are you Metallica or something?” quips King, as her fiancé, tattoo artist Daniel Tooker, 33, smiles nearby. A few weeks from now, King and her family will hit the road on this bus for her A-Freakin-Men Tour—an adventure the Grammy-nominated star has long yearned for. “I’ve always dreamt of having a baby and my partner on the bus, traveling around the world and making great music, and now it’s my daily life,” King, 33, says later in an office on Nashville’s famed Music Row. “I have everything I’ve ever wanted. My life is happy.”

Gone Country 

Nashville has welcomed King with open arms. She and Dierks Bentley (right) won a CMA Award for their hit “Different for Girls,” and they teamed up again on “Worth a Shot.” King toured with pal Miranda Lambert in 2019, and they won an ACM Award for their “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” video (left). “We had so much fun that day getting to act like s--- shows together,” Lambert says of filming.
