NEW FACTUAL Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing Sunday, 9pm, BBC2
When angling series Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing was first broadcast in 2018, a major part of the programme was Paul Whitehouse's desire to help friend and fellow comedian Bob Mortimer recuperate after major heart surgery.
Across five series of the hit show, as well as larking about and trading banter, their fishing trips have allowed the pair to enjoy spectacular scenery and appreciate the joys of nature, while reflecting on the more serious aspects of life.
As the show returns for a sixth run, Mortimer and Whitehouse continue to chew the cud as they head for the rivers Irfon and Wye to fish for chub, and they’re struck by how solitary the landscape is.
