GOOD OMENS

Prime Video

Heaven and hell are set to collide once again as Michael Sheen and David Tennant return for a second run of the fun-filled divine fantasy.

While the first series was based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s much-loved 1990 novel, the new six-parter, co-written by Gaiman, explores a completely fresh story. It begins as prissy angel and bookshop owner Aziraphale (Sheen) and his louche frenemy, demon Crowley (Tennant), are settling back down to life on Earth among an unsuspecting mankind after helping to prevent the apocalypse.

But the sudden arrival of a very confused archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) kicks off a challenging mission for Aziraphale and Crowley as they team up again to try to work out what is going on and keep Gabriel away from the forces of both good and evil.

Miranda Richardson, who played a colourful medium in the last series, is taking on a different role this time around as demon Shax, while Shelley Conn joins the cast as Beelzebub, a part played by Anna Maxwell Martin in season one. Liz Carr is another of the new faces, along with Tennant’s real-life son Ty and father-in-law Peter Davison.

A MURDER AT THE END OF THE WORLD

Disney+

The OA creators Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij return with this stylish thriller starring The Crown’s Emma Corrin as Darby Hart, ‘a Gen-Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker’ who investigates when a fellow guest is found dead at a retreat on the estate of a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen). Promising a fresh take on the detective genre, the seven-parter also stars Harris Dickinson.
