Crime From
Thursday 21 September, ITVX
Last seen being put on gardening leave after bringing paedophile 'Mr Confectioner' (John Simm) to justice, traumatised Edinburgh cop Ray Lennox (Dougray Scott) is back on the force as Crime, created by Trainspotting's Irvine Welsh, returns to ITVX.
'Ray is back after taking an extended break with his fiancée, during which they split up, reveals Scott. 'He's single and fragile, but in his mind he's ready to start work again and get back to the police force. That's his oxygen, and he needs it in order to survive.
Still in therapy, Ray's return to work does not mean the demons that tormented him in season one have magically disappeared.
'The second season delves even more into Ray's childhood and his relationship with his family,' says Scott, whose son Gabriel joins the cast as Ray's nephew, Fraser, who is struggling to find his own identity.
