THE WINDSORS

NEW SUNDAY, 9PM, C4 COMEDY

It’s a sunny day in March and a members of a film crew are scurrying around as King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, both resplendent in velvet robes of state, stroll through the doors of stately home Brocket Hall in rural Hertfordshire. Well, OK, not quite…

A lucky TV Times has received a right royal invitation to watch actors Harry Enfield and Haydn Gwynne’s satirical versions of

Their Majesties in action as the cast of C4’s The Windsors shoot a one-off special of the popular sitcom to mark the coronation.

The episode will see Charles preparing to be officially crowned King, a moment he has been waiting for all his life, and so he wants the UK’s first coronation in 70 years to be a spectacular occasion laced with all the pomp, pageantry and ceremony it deserves.

While the Queen has her heart set on diamonds, furs and a display by the Red Arrows, Prince William (played by Hugh Skinner), however, is not sure splashing the cash is the right way to go in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis.

With Harry (Richard Goulding) and Meghan (Kathryn Drysdale) flying in from America for the historic event, a host of royal relations pursuing their own agendas, plus a special guest appearance from Nigel Havers, it’s safe to assume plenty of fireworks will accompany the big day!

During a break in filming, we were granted an audience with leading lady Haydn, 65, to talk through proceedings…

So, just how excited is your Camilla about the prospect of being crowned Queen, Haydn?
