The media storm that erupted after newsreader Douglas Bellowes was accused of making a sexist joke has brought difficulties for him and his hard-nosed producer, Toby Patterson.
But as ITVI's comedy drama Douglas Is Cancelled continues this week, the two men could face worrying new complications when a troubling incident from the past rears its head.
The third instalment features flashbacks to three years previous, as up-and-coming broadcaster Madeline Crow (Karen Gillan) is keen to work with Douglas (Hugh Bonneville) and Toby (Ben Miles) on Live at 6. But when she is invited for an informal interview, the encounter takes an unexpected turn.
TV Times caught up with Ben, 57, to find out more...
Toby's past dealings with Madeline and Douglas are explored in this week's episode. What can you reveal?
