You must have noticed Alia Bhatt's postnatal comeback to working out by doing 108 suryanamaskars, or Kareena Kapoor Khan's strong streak with her practise. Yoga instructor Anshuka Parwani's clientele is star studded, and she has a knack of bringing unique variations to this age-old practice. Parwani chats with us about her journey, shares workout hits and myths, and how one can make yoga a lifestyle choice.
Grazia: How did you start yoga?
Anshuka Parwani: I started yoga because a near fatal accident left me bedridden for eight months. It was not just the physical trauma, but the mental trauma was very hard to recuperate from. I was a commercial pilot, so losing my airline job because I was temporarily medically unfit was very hard. I enrolled in a yoga school, and I felt the magic of the practice. Yoga came to me as part of healing. It literally changed my outlook towards life.
G: What are some myths about yoga that you'd like to bust?
