As a child Gabriel Llano (Oviedo, 1987) did not play with Barbies, instead, he combed their hair.

“Although no one else in my house is dedicated to this profession, I always knew that I wanted to be a hairdresser,” he says. Today, his name is on everyone’s lips when the topic of conversation is hair. You just need to sneak into his salon on any given day, located in the exclusive Salamanca neighbourhood to realise his success. Countless well-known faces and devoted clients who adore his vision parade through there every week. A regular collaborator with most coveted media platforms, today his hands work magic on set.

Your salon is in the same place where the legendary Ruphert once reigned. Is it a coincidence?

Totally! I was looking for the perfect place to open my salon and, surprisingly, the day I went to see this place, Ruphert himself, who is the owner, came to show me. We only talked about hair and he showed me a wall where he had all the photos of him: it was just wonderful. Now, we are friends and it is an honour for me to have started my solo path here.

You have made the naturalness of your colours your trademark. What is the secret to achieving this look? It is not easy to find good colourists or salons where they achieve these kind of tones.
