Since its creation in 1995, the Lady Dior has received the favour and adoration of numerous celebrities and fashionistas alike. Designed by Daniela Puppa during Gianfranco Ferré’s tenure, the bag was gifted to Lady Diana and what followed was a love affair unlike any other. This season, Maria Grazia Chiuri creates her own interpretation of this object of desire. Following in the footsteps of its celebrated sibling the Lady Dior handbag, Dior’s newest addition is set to become the Maison’s next icon. Christened the Lady 95.22, the bag made its debut at the Autumn/Winter ’22 readyto-wear show as a contemporary rendition of the timeless Lady Dior.
The bag was created as an “ode to the connection between past and present”. Its soft yet structured façade echoes the lines of the Lady Dior, while its name embodies the date of the emblematic icon’s creation in 1995, and the year of this refreshing counterpart in 2022.
