À La MODE
L'OFFICIEL Malaysia|October 2023
Prada Mode Seoul offered guests a sophisticated curation of film screenings and musical performances, as well as thought-provoking art installations by three film directors who are reflecting on modern Seoul by asking questions of culture, absence and mortality.

À La MODE

Almost five years since the very first edition of Prada Mode — a peripatetic private club offering exclusive experiences of contemporary art and culture — was held at Freehand Miami, it was finally time for it to land in Seoul last month. And with a knack for centring each of its iterations on curated content that best complements the city hosting the event, it was only natural that Prada Mode’s 10th edition would honour South Korean film directors who are making progress for contemporary cinema: renowned action film director, Kim Jee-Woon; Train to Busan and Hellbound director, Yeon SangHo; and animation director, Jeong Dahee.

Themed “Plural and Parallel”, this latest Prada Mode installment was curated by lecturer, writer and art curator, Lee Sook-Kyung, and housed at cultural space KOTE in Insadong — it featured conversations with the directors, film screenings, musical performances, culinary experiences, and most notably, three separate art installations: each realised by one of the three chosen film directors to represent his or her version of actual and imagined reality, and motivate conversation.
