After a two-year hiatus and a further postponement last year due to the pandemic, Art Basel Hong Kong finally returned this past March. Hailing from 32 different countries, 177 exhibitors presented their works at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

From paintings to sculptures, films to installations, the fair was an opportunity for viewers to see Asian and international artistic perspectives. One of the main focuses was on Hong Kong artist Wesley Tongson, whose landscape artworks are made with ink sketches combining Eastern and Western influences with unique finger painting techniques.

Presented by the city's Galerie du Monde, the retrospective highlighted his work from recent decades. Gallery Vacancy in Shanghai presented the mysterious and intriguing works of American contemporary artist Sydney Shen, known for creating unique sculptures and installations that utilise Chinese and Western medical devices, instruments, and and biological samples.
