Most people don’t know how to rest. Rest is not just taking a nap, scrolling or watching TV. The most important thing about rest is that you’re not taking in any information through your eyes or ears. We’re always watching things, reading, listening – we cook dinner with a podcast on. Radical rest is an active practice in nothingness.
I founded The Daily Rest Studio to teach people how to rest. We do live workshops a few times a month where I guide a more curated and complete rest experience, and tell people different postures to try (my background is in yoga). When I started teaching rest, everyone was like, “That’s so boring. Maybe my grandmother would be into that.” But activists, parents, creatives, business owners, high achievers and ambitious people – these are the people who need rest almost more than anyone else.
