Periodic dramas often require meticulous attention to detail and careful execution to create a memorable cinematic experience. It’s a matter of great pride and privilege that "Mastaney" lived up to our expectations leaving a permanent impact on our hearts, minds and souls.
The story revolves around the historical tale of the Sikhs (that goes back to 1739) who attacked Nadar Shah and his unbeatable army when they invaded Delhi. The performances and commitment to their roles of Sikh Rebellions played by Tarsem Jassar, Gurpreet Ghiggi, Karamjit Anmol, Honey Mattu, and Baninder Bunny, are the standout elements of “Mastaney.”
In an interaction with Seema Dhawan, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Simi Chahal and Tarsem Jasser opened up about their experiences.
There is attention to detail in portraying the physicality and demeanor of the characters and the same has enhanced the authenticity of the performances. How did they get into the skin of character?
When asked how they got into the skin of character, Gurpreet Ghuggi replied by quoting an example of jalebi, an Indian sweet... “Just as you can’t achieve the desired flavor of jalebi by simply coating it with sugar but need to immerse it in sugar syrup for a suitable amount of time, actors need to gradually immerse themselves into their characters. It’s not something that can be achieved instantly, and it requires time and effort,” he opines.
