Ristorante AI Garamond Torino is so posh and Jexclusive that they keep their spotless glass door firmly locked. You have to ring the bell and if they approve of how you look (no ripped jeans or dirty sneakers), they open the door and ask fairly sternly whether you have a reservation. If not, you stay outside.
But once you're in, it's smiles all the way, and the friendliest, most courteous service. And non-stop food, much of it complimentary. You're shown to your table in one of the spacious rooms, with vaulted ceilings sporting exposed brickwork, presumably to denote the antiquity of the building which dates back to the 1800s.
