HOBBY FARMS PRESENT - GROWING GOOD

Since 2020, New Jersey farmer Jeff Tober has been working with the Pinelands Preservation Alliance to turn 72 acres of conventionally cropped fields into a farm that looks very different. At Rancocas Creek Farm, Tober aims to restore soil health, involve community members, create habitat and produce high yields of quality produce. In addition to his work remaking this land, Tober is on the board of the New Jersey Agricultural Society and the Burlington County Agricultural Development Board.

HOBBY FARMS: Tell us about the Pinelands Preservation Alliance.

TOBER: Pinelands Preservation Alliance was founded just over 30 years ago by citizens involved in preserving New Jersey's 1.1-million-acre Pinelands National Preserve.

Soil Conservation

Barn Improvements

Days are never long enough for a farmer. From dawn to well into the night, tasks arise that often require immediate action. Having to search for tools or equipment is an enormous time waster and incredibly frustrating when you can't find what you need, especially when you know you have it.
