1 Angelonia Archangel Ruby Sangria
Ruby Sangria is an addition to the Archangel series, which offer larger individual flowers on mid-sized plants with excellent branching. Ruby Sangria further stands out among angelonias because of its unique dark red color. It grows roughly 12 inches tall and wide with an upright mounding habit and takes full sun.
2 Coleus Premium Sun Coral Candy
Coleus can't be beat for adding summer-long color to the shade, thanks to their vivid foliage. The Premium Sun collection of coleus brings the beauty of these workhorses to brighter spaces, although their leaves will scorch in full sun if the air is dry-so outside of humid regions, keep them in part or full shade. The new Coral Candy, recognized as an All-America Selection in 2023, has bright salmon-pink leaves edged in deep bronze and lime green. The foliage also adds interesting texture with its narrow width and jagged margin. This coleus offers bushy, upright growth to 16 inches tall and slightly less wide.
3 Cuphea Sweet Talk
Long-blooming, heat-loving cuphe as are known for attracting hummingbirds and other long tongued pollinators to their brightly colored tubular flowers.
Cupheas in the new Sweet Talk series offer tight branching, putting the flowers nearer to each other for a mass of color. Varieties include Deep Pink, Red and Lavender Splash, which incorporates two shades of purple. These plants form an upright mound 8 to 14 inches tall and wide. They can forgive some lapses in watering and they need full sun.
