Selecting blinds for your space can be a how-long-is-a-piece-of-string situation. there are myriad options and factors to weigh up. Sheer blinds might suffice in a light-filled living room or kitchen, but in a baby’s bedroom, can lead to early morning wake-up calls. consider the moisture in the room. they may be insta-worthy, but linen roman blinds mightn’t survive the humidity of a bathroom. timber venetian blinds are better at tolerating moisture. there’s a lot to think about.
Your blinds must allow the doors or windows to open and close smoothly. “For example, if dressing a sliding window, vertical blinds work best to avoid banging or clanging when you want fresh air,” says amelia taylor, head of product at Wynstan. For a window that winds open or a sash window, on the other hand, look for a “top-down style” such as a roller or roman blind.
