THE SITTING ROOM BY SOPHIE ASHBY FOR UNITED IN DESIGN
Sophie Ashby is known for her design mantra 'start with the art' so it should come as little surprise that the scheme for this sitting room celebrates artistry. Shining the spotlight on talented and ethnically diverse makers, artisans, designers and suppliers, the hope is it will inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
The scene for the room is a family Sunday afternoon and taking centre stage is a semi-circular sofa opposite which will be a sculptural fireplace. 'It's a comfy, informal atmosphere that feels rich, layered, soulful and artful,' explains Sophie.
