Matthew Williamson's love affair with the enchanting town of Deià in Majorca began over a decade ago. Nestled on the Spanish coastline, this village has long been a haven for artists, musicians, and bohemian souls.
Captivated by Deià’s energy, Matthew purchased a cliffside stone-fronted house, envisioning it as a four-bedroom holiday sanctuary infused with his signature maximalist style.
Embracing the home’s nuances, Matthew embarked on this transformation with a clear vision: to craft a space that exuded his unique essence.
He drew inspiration from the traditional blue and white interiors often associated with the Balearic Islands, but aimed to infuse a distinctive twist with his signature maximalist flair.
Matthew says, “It took about 12 months to complete and was a nice project as we were not necessarily in a hurry. I hoped I could turn what was once an ugly duckling into a swan. A space we’d love to be in as a family.”
