A 3,300 sq ft in-situ show unit in Singapore’s Corals at Keppel Bay condominium, this apartment boasts unblocked views of the blue waters and passing yachts, making it a truly idyllic abode. Among the unit’s strengths are its abundance of natural light and space, and the absence of bay windows, which facilitates spatial efficiency.
During its conceptualisation, Designworx Interior Consultant chose the circle as a central element. “The circle is an auspicious symbol of harmony and perfection, and we were inspired by the Chinese phrase that translates to ‘good and well’,” Terri Tan, the design director, shares.
With a finesse honed by decades of experience, the interior design company crafted the four-bedroom unit to sport a luxurious feel that would appeal to a broad base, yet also have a distinctive look. The team worked with a palette of soft greys, beige and dark brown via wallcoverings, fluted panels and laminates for an understated and refined look that also conveys a sense of grandeur.
In planning the storage solutions, Tan remained mindful of balance. “Too much built-in storage can sometimes make interior spaces feel mass-market. It can also give the impression that the unit is small. Hence, the design must maximise storage space. The challenge was how to balance storage with aesthetics,” she says.
