THE LOTUS REALM SPA, PEMAKO PUNAKHA

Inspired by the remote Himalayan sanctuary, or beyul, of the same name, Pemako is an earthly paradise waiting to be discovered. Pemako is tucked into the fertile Punakha valley, known for its year round temperate climate, colourful Buddhist festivals and the sublime Punakha Dzong. It houses an exquisite wellness spa called The Lotus Realm Spa. Embracing the deeply rooted age-old practices, the spa is driven by the philosophy inspired by Sowa Rigpa - the traditional Bhutanese medicine and guided by the skilled touch of Dungtshos - traditional medicine doctors. Amongst an array of therapies, one must experience the Bhutanese Hot Stone Bath session - a nurturing ritual that offers a modern touch of spa therapy transcending conventional treatments.

The water is infused with 5 distinct herbs – each with its own distinct, healing qualities - Safflower, Polygonatum (Soloman’s seal), White Rhododendron, Amla and Terminalia. The spa has four treatment rooms, as well as infrared saunas and steam rooms.
