RITA, DEMI AND MELANIE ARE STILL THICK AS THIEVES

Demi Moore got a bonus surprise while receiving an award at a gala in Beverly Hills late last month. What started out as a fundraising dinner for the Women's Cancer Research Fund turned into an unofficial Now and Then reunion between Demi and her castmates Melanie Griffith and Rita Wilson.

"You should have seen Demi's face light up when she clocked Melanie," a source told New Idea.

"They're longtime girlfriends and know each other's secrets. It was lovely that she was there for Demi's big night.

"Having Rita and [her husband Tom Hanks there too left Demi almost delirious. She had a great time and it was made extra special by having her oldest friends there." Demi, 61, first met Melanie, 66, back in 1990.

Her then-husband, Bruce Willis, was filming Bonfire of the Vanities with the Working Girl star. Meanwhile, Rita, 67, has said that she has known Melanie "since we were both 17 years old".
