Ree says:
"When the grown kids are all home, it can get a little cramped...but togetherness is what the holidays are all about!"
Ree and Ladd realized a couple of years ago that the 50-year-old house where they’d raised their kids had too many major issues to try to fix, so they decided to raze it and build a new one on the very same spot. The challenge was that they needed somewhere to live during the process, so they built a guest house first! The new home is smaller, but there’s a big open kitchen, two seating areas full of cozy furniture (like this bouclé bench from Burke Decor) and some key modern features. “I was so excited about having hot water on demand,” Ree jokes. “In the old house, it took seven minutes for the water in our shower to get hot!”
