Set against the backdrop of a makeshift New York loft-inspired set, Datin Intan Najuwa, who introduces herself simply as Intan, dazzles in a sky-blue double-breasted suit jacket paired with a matching flowy tulle skirt from Ralph Lauren. Meandering between the set’s curved corners, her petite frame still demands attention as she saunters and sways before the lens. She has, after all, had years of practice.
In the glamorous realm of Malaysian entertainment, Intan stands out as a beacon of grace and ambition. She has carved a niche at just 26 years old as a seasoned actor and innovative content creator, redefining what it means to be a modern entertainer. And today, indeed she is.
As the set darkens for some shadow play, she knows just how to capture the light; her visage still beautifully illuminated as she works the mellifluous silks against chic tailored looks in divine soft pastels. A few more clicks and it’s an early wrap—again a mark of her effortless command in front of the camera. Now it’s time to get down to business: the interview.
THE EARLY YEARS AND RISE TO FAME
Intan’s story begins in the modest family environment of Johor Bahru, where she grew up as the second of three sisters to retired civil servants. This humble upbringing, far removed from the dazzle of showbiz, imbued her with values that now shine through in her public persona.
Her original path was in academia, attending MSU Malaysia to pursue a degree in Business Management. However, Intan’s path took a dramatic and surprising turn, reminiscent of a plot twist in a riveting drama series.
“I was at the right place, at the right time,” Intan reflects on her pivotal decision to embrace her true calling.
