But the heavens granted their wish and on December 9, 2024, just a little over two months from the proposal, they exchanged marriage vows at the Capella del Coro of St Peter's Basilica in ceremonies officiated by the Rustias' close priest friend, Fr Andrew Recepcion. Comparatively a short time to prepare a wedding but when the Vatican calls, you don't waste any time.
“We both felt so blessed to be married in this holy city,” said Rustia, still a blushing bride when Tatler talked to her. They also honoured the country's tradition of a typical Italian wedding at the reception venue, Palazzo Brancaccio.
