499 students forfeit deposits amid declining enthusiasm

In a clear sign of dwindling interest in Ayurveda-Homoeopathy courses, a staggering 499 students have cancelled their admissions, even after paying a non-refundable deposit of Rs 10,000.

Similarly, even after all Medical-Dental seats were filled, 64 students still cancelled their admissions. This forced the admissions committee to add extra rounds and extend deadlines to try and fill the vacancies, officials said.

This trend is thought to be driven by a steep rise in fees, with many students seemingly willing to lose their deposit rather than commit to the full cost.
