A quirky Spanish and Colombian custom of eating 12 grapes at midnight for good luck has taken social media by storm, leaving a trail of empty fruit baskets across the city. Despite having no local connection to the tradition, Ahmedabad's youth found themselves in a frantic search for affordable grapes on New Year's Eve.

A grape chase

Determined to ensure a prosperous new year, many young people embarked on a grape hunt on December 31. However, as the clock ticked closer to midnight, grapes vanished from shops, delivery apps, and even lorries.
