Appoint officer to fix compensation to be paid by firm to victims: HC

The Gujarat High Court has directed the Vadodara Collector to appoint an officer to determine the amount of compensation to be paid by the Kotia Projects to the families of the deceased and injured in the Harni Boat Accident case.

The victims and the Kotia Projects will have to present their case to the officer not below the rank of Deputy Collector to be appointed by the Collector. The officer must then determine the compensation within eight weeks and submit its report to the Gujarat High Court.

Meanwhile, the state government has submitted that they have notified the rules regarding boating and it has been included in the gazette.
