Gukesh Dommaraju recently became the youngest World Chess Champion at 18. Considering his age, his collected and impressively calm demeanor has won him fans beyond the game of chess.
He showed the world how victory could be celebrated graciously. Not seen jumping with joy as most would expect a Gen Z kid to (although there's nothing wrong with jumping and celebrating either), but with tears of gratitude, he was mindful of his body language and etiquette. Gukesh got up when greeted and congratulated, began smiling when asked not to cry, even arranged his chess board to perfection once the game was over with gratitude visible towards every piece besides of course parents, teacher and coach.
Not only was he mindful of keeping his chair back properly, he ensured the door didn't slam on the one behind him as he walked out of the room to meet his folks. Perhaps there are lessons to learn from the young lad on how to be a humble winner.
Be gracious in victory
