In a heartburn for farmers and owners of prime NA land, the railways have decided to acquire 2.86 lakh square metre land between Geratpur and Sanand by rejecting all 131 objections. Land owners fear that they will get inadequate compensation for land where several projects were planned by them.
According to sources, a final decision has been made to acquire this land, valued at over Rs 750 crore, for the project. The Railway Department has published a notice inviting objections from stakeholders.
The Railways have decided to reject all objections and proceed with acquiring the designated land.
