Residents opposing the proposed Panjrapole flyover submitted before the Gujarat High Court on Thursday that the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) plans to fell 91 mature trees and saplings on Dr Vikram Sarabhai Road.
They suggested that the flyover be constructed between Gujarat University and Nehrunagar, instead of Panjrapole junction to the Indian Institute of Management. The HC instructed the residents' counsel to provide legal precedents to show how the court could interfere with the government's policy decision to construct the flyover. It has posted the matter for hearing on Friday.
