Hospitals, restaurants and commercial complexes in Ambawadi are being converted into paying guest (PG) facilities, making it the city's most prominent PG hub. A dozen such establishments have already sprung up, housing hundreds of bachelors, students and working professionals, with more on the way.

The iconic 35-year-old Doctor House near Parimal Garden crossroads, formerly Prerna Hospital, has seen its top two floors converted into a girls' PG. An adjacent apartment building has also been converted into a PG for both men and women.

Silver Brook, a commercial complex that once housed Siddhi Vinayak Hospital and other medical clinics, has been partially repurposed. With the building becoming old and prone for redevelopment, doctors have relocated, and the owners have rented out floors to PG operators.
