Retail inflation in June rises to four month high of 5.08%

Food inflation has been hovering over 8% for the eighth straight month while pulses have seen double digit inflation for 13 consecutive months

India’s retail inflation rose to fourmonth high of 5.08% in June compared with 4.75% in the previous month as food inflation rose to 9.4%.

Inflation had dipped to a 12-month low of 4.75% in the previous month, despite food inflation hovering around 8.7%.

June marks the eighth consecutive month of over 8% food inflation, data released on July 12 showed.
