The spate of drug seizures on and off Gujarat coast continues. In a joint operation on Friday morning, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Navy, in a joint operation, seized around 700 kg of methamphetamine from the Indian territorial waters off Porbandar coast. Eight Iranian nationals were arrested in the operation, code-named Sagar Manthan-4.
The value of the seized methamphetamine, a synthetic recreational variety of narcotics, is approximately Rs 2,500-3,500 crore in the international market, according to NCB officials.
